Strawberry has activated mobile room keys on Google Wallet globally. The Clarion Hotel Post is now using the Strawberry mobile keys in Sweden. Phocus Wire reported that the NFC mobile key was developed through a partnership between Zaplox and Vingcard.

Proof of Concept

Zaplox is a digital guest solutions company. The company commenced a collaboration with Google to create a mobile key proof of concept in Google Wallet. This hotel mobile key in the Google Wallet partnership started in 2023. The mobile room key concept was tested at Bay View Suites in California’s Mountain View area. The suites are owned by Google.

Zaplox CTO, Kim Lood, said, “We are honored to announce the launch of mobile keys in Google Wallet. This launch demonstrates our vision of delivering next-generation technology and proves that when visionary minds unite and work together with the latest technology, we can truly leave a mark on the industry.

Zaplox leveraged the BLE technology to develop Strawberry mobile keys.

First in the World

Clarion Hotel Post becomes the first hotel to launch Strawberry mobile keys in Google Wallet.

Becoming the first hotel in the world to offer mobile keys in both Google Wallet and Apple Wallet is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the guest experience at every touchpoint and underscores the importance of collaborating with industry-leading technology partners,” Strawberry Strategic Growth VP Christian Lundén said.

The NFC mobile keys allow guests to place their room keys on Google Wallet. This allows them to access hotel facilities and unlock their rooms with digital keys.

Exceptional Experiences

Development of the Strawberry NFC mobile key comes after the announcement of mobile keys via Apple Wallet was made last summer. According to Strawberry’s Strategic Growth VP, Christian Lundén, hotel guests are always looking for positive experiences.

We are constantly striving to deliver exceptional experiences and a seamless guest journey, and the launch of hotel keys in Google Wallet is an important step on that journey. This is exactly what hotel guests are looking for and expect, and we are thrilled to be able to offer this next-generation mobile key solution through our strong partnerships. The initial response from the hotel guests has been very positive,” he said.

HTEC Conference

The launch of the Strawberry mobile keys Google wallet comes at a time when the HITEC conference is going on in North Carolina. Conversations on how technology can be used to humanize the hospitality industry took center-stage in the conference.

Mews founder, Richard Valtr, says the focus should be on providing positive experiences to guests. Not just giving them a place to sleep. The greatest obstacle to achieving this is the cold first impression guests receive.

A check-in is a process. You give me the [credit] card. You give me your ID, and I give you a key card so you can access the room. One of the things we’ve thought very, very passionately about was that we wanted the experience of coming to a hotel not to be a check-in, but a welcoming, because that’s what’s human and natural,” Valtr said.

Technological solutions like Strawberry mobile keys address this problem. With digital keys, guests can bypass front desks and access their rooms directly.

Introduction
The 8th iteration of the smartest smartphone, Google Pixel is here. Along with the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, Google also announced Pixel Watch 2 and Android 14 during its 2023 Google Pixel launch event.
As far as surprises go, Google has had a terrible history of keeping their devices from being leaked. And, most of what the rumors suggested about the Pixel 8 has come true. One of those was the brand-new AI integrated Camera. Before talking more about it in detail, let’s see what the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro have to offer.

Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro Specifications

Here’s a quick look at the hardware specs of both 2023 Pixel devices:

Google Pixel 8 Google Pixel 8 Pro
Display FHD, 6.2-inch OLED at 60-120Hz refresh rate QHD, 6.7-inch LTPO OLED at 1-120Hz refresh rate
Processor Tensor G3 Tensor G3

Storage 128GB or 256GB 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB
Battery 4,575mAh with wireless charging 5,050mAh with wireless charging

Now, we all know that the Google Pixel has never been about the flashiest hardware. They’re known to show software magic that takes decently good hardware to match other flagships like the iPhone 15 that launched last month. But, that doesn’t mean Google has let the same hardware slide this year. The all-new Tensor G3 has to be the highlight hardware component this year alongside the new ultrawide sensor upgrade over last year’s Pixel 7 Pro. The Batteries have also seen a minor bump with the RAM, storage, and displays remaining the same.
But, what’s special about these new flagships from Google?

Everything New and Improved About the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro

Google Pixel 8

Android 14 and Software Upgrades

One of Google’s main selling points is its amazing, buttery-smooth software experience. With the Android 14, the Pixel 8 has new features like accessibility options, security improvements, and customization. The most notable features of Android 14 are the notification flashes, built-in health connect app, and better hearing-aid support.
Talking about Pixel 8 exclusive features, there’s a new camera feature called Best Take. It takes multiple photos and uses AI to combine them to get the best shot, hence the name. So let’s say you’re taking a photo and some people’s faces are not correctly captured. Using multiple photos, the feature will automatically adjust and edit those faces.
Sticking to the images, Google is also using generative AI for their new Magic Editor tool that can reposition, resize, and completely reimagine a photo after it’s shot. Other than that, the Google Assistant gets better this year. You can now use it to summarize web pages and read text aloud while automatically translating it. The Gboard also features better suggestions for proofreading your texts.

An Improved Camera Set-up

Google already has a tried-and-tested recipe for a great camera, as it has been one of the best in the industry. Some would even argue that Google’s photos are better in some situations when compared to the iPhone or Samsung’s Galaxy S23. This year’s camera has a few minor hardware upgrades to make it better.
The Pixel 8’s 50MP primary sensor has a wider aperture at ƒ/1.68 to take in more light. The ultrawide lens has a larger FoV to bring in more of the background without distorting the image too much. While that is a decent upgrade, the Pixel 8 Pro has an even better ultrawide sensor at 48MP along with an even wider aperture than the Pixel 8.
When it comes to the front cameras, the Pixel 8 doesn’t see a notable quality upgrade. However, they now have Class 3 biometrics which gives them the same security class as the fingerprint scanners. So, you can use both, fingerprint and face unlock with equal security for banking and locking your phone and apps.

Tensor G3-Powered Performance

Since its introduction with the Pixel 6 in 2021, Google has used the Tensor G-series processors that they designed and Samsung made. Each year, Google has announced unique software and camera features that were only possible thanks to their Tensor processors. This year’s Tensor G3 enables similar software features that we discussed earlier. It also has a next-gen ARM CPU along with an improved GPU and a next-gen TPU. All of these upgrades in the performance will improve camera quality, battery life, and day-to-day usage. However, it is worth noting that the tensor G3 is still nowhere near Apple’s A17 and Snapdragon Gen 8 processors.
Apart from the processor, everything is exactly the same in terms of storage capacity and memory. The battery life is expected to be slightly better considering a slight bump to the capacity and processor improvements.
Google Pixel 8 and Pixel Watch 2

Minor Display and Design Changes

The Google Pixel 8 and 8 pro have a 6.2-inch FHD and a 6.7-inch QHD display respectively. Both of them offer slightly better displays than last year. The Pixel 8 now offers a 120Hz refresh rate compared to the 90Hz of the Pixel 7. The Pixel 8 pro now has the capability to use a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. Other than that, both displays have slightly higher peak brightness.
The design hasn’t changed much at all from the Pixel 7 with the same camera bar on the rear top. However, unlike the Pixel 7 Pro, the Pixel 8 Pro no longer has a curved display. Some people loved it, some didn’t. Lastly, there are 2 new color options in shades of light blue and pink color.

The All-New Google Pixel Watch 2 – New Sensors and Better Battery

Along with the Pixel phones, Google also announced the Pixel Watch 2 during the launch event. The 2nd generation smartwatch by Google saw major upgrades over the previous model. It has a new processor, an overhauled sensor array, added safety features, heart rate zone training, and Wear OS 4. The new processor will also increase the battery life to about 24 hours with an always-on display.

Google Pixel Watch 2 and Google Pixel 8 Price – How Much Will the New Toys Set You Back?

For the past couple of years, Google has tried to sink its feet in the higher-tier market just under the ultra-expensive flagship level of Apple and Samsung’s top models. And, they’ve nailed it with the pricing for both of their offerings this year.
The Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will cost around $699 and $999, respectively. Whereas, the Google Watch 2 will go for $349.99.
At these prices, the Pixel 8 makes for a great high-end phone if you’re okay with a slightly less powerful processor. The growing use of Google’s AI solutions is also a great start for the smartphone.
However, the $300 difference between the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro doesn’t offer that much to make it a no-brainer upgrade. Are you in the market for a new smartphone? If so, let us know if this year’s Google Pixel caught your eye.

Introduction
The most awaited launch of the year is finally here. Apple has released its iPhone 15 line along with Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch Series 9. They also announced an update to last year’s Apple Watch Ultra.
The four new iPhone models, the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max will be available in the market later this month. All of the announcements were made at the Wonderlust event on Tuesday in Cupertino, California. The Apple event was live-streamed on various platforms showcasing its innovation in tech. The iPhone 15 series was expected to have aesthetic changes and technological updates, and it looks like Apple has delivered it.

Here is What has Changed in the iPhone 15 Series

All four devices in the new iPhone lineup − iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max will be available for preorder on September 15 with an official online and in-store launch on September 22. There are numerous features and upgrades in the new line that are exciting.
iPhone 15

Display and Design

Starting with the displays, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro have 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED displays. The iPhone 15 Plus and 15 Pro Max will have the same OLED displays with a bigger, 6.7-inch screen and an aluminum body. The Pro iPhones also have an upgraded 120Hz display which is absent on the base models.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max feature a newly refined titanium body with brush texture, contoured edges, and the thinnest borders which makes it Apple’s lightest Pro lineup ever. The Dynamic Island returns as a redesigned notch at the top of the screen that takes up less visual space. Also, the Pro models will not have the ring/mute switch. Instead, the switch will be a programmable action Button, a feature that many Android phones boasted.

Camera Setup

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have a 48MP main camera that enables super-high-resolution photos and a new 2x telephoto lens to give users a total of three optical zoom levels giving the feel of a third camera. iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max also have a 48 MP main camera along with a new 24MP super-high-resolution default.

Moreover, the iPhone 15 Pro features an expansive 3x Telephoto camera, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max provides the longest optical zoom ever on the iPhone which is 5x thanks to a 120 mm lens.

Performance and Hardware

The iPhone 15 base models will have an A16 Bionic chip also used in the iPhone 14 Pro Models for proven powerful performance. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are powered by A17 Pro, the industry’s first 3-nanometer chip. The iPhone 15 Pro will offer smoother graphics, more immersive AR applications, and gaming experiences thanks to the new Pro-class GPU with 6 cores.

Thanks to performance upgrades to the iPhone 15 Pro, gaming will take a notable step forward. Apple has announced an impressive lineup of AAA games like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It is still too early to start comparing the iPhones FPS figures with the consoles or PCs. But, Apple rarely disappoints in the performance department.

Battery and USB-C Charging

The battery life of the iPhone 15 models is expected to be similar to the previous year’s lineup. But, one thing has changed for the better!

All the iPhone 15 models use a USB‑C connector, a universally accepted standard for charging and transferring data, allowing the same cable to charge iPhone, Mac, iPad, and the updated AirPods Pro (2nd generation). Users can also charge AirPods or Apple Watch directly from iPhones with the USB‑C connector.

Colors Options

The standard models will debut in five colors that is pink, black, white, blue, and yellow. The iPhone Pro models will come in dark gray, black, dark blue, and light grey. Looks like Apple has finally heard the call for a Pink iPhone. And, you won’t have to pay extra for it! Speaking of which:

iPhone 15 Prices

The standard iPhone 15 will start at a price range of $799, and the 15 Plus will start at $899. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999, while the iPhone Pro Max will have a price of $1,199.

What’s New in the Apple Watch Series?

They also announced two new watches Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch Series 9.
Both are equipped with a new S9 SiP (System in Package) and a new ultra-wideband chip. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 jumps up to a screen brightness as high as 3,000 nits, while the Apple Watch Series 9 can max out at 2,000 nits. Both will also support a double-tap feature to help you do things like answer phone calls.

They will also have features like the brightest ever display, expanded altitude range, on-device Siri, Precision Finding for iPhone, and advanced capabilities for water adventures. the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has the same 36-hour battery life with regular use and up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. For the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple claims that it is 60% faster, coupled with a 30% faster GPU. Last year’s Apple Watch Ultra has upgrades like customizable watch faces and power zones for data collection during exercise.

 iPhone 15 Series

Our Thoughts

All the models include 100% recycled and low-carbon material keeping in mind the environment and sustainability. So the new iPhone 15 is an ideal phone for environment-conscious people. But is it really worth an upgrade over last year’s iPhone 14 lineup?

For tech enthusiasts, the new iPhone means much more than just an upgrade. Apple’s flagship phones have been synonymous with setting trends. One of those was the notch up top which they retracted from. But, this year’s highlight has to be Apple’s focus on the gaming performance.

If this new take on the gaming industry works, we could see major shake-ups in the console and PC gaming market. Regardless of what angle this ship takes, we’re thrilled to be on it!

Introduction

After 4 years of Samsung’s first foldable, Google entered the market with its first foldable phone, Pixel Fold. The Google Pixel Fold is available in the market from June 27. It is a treat for Google enthusiasts because the hype for the phone was long made. Google started accepting the preorder of Pixel Fold on May 10.

In this article, we will review it for you and help you decide whether you should buy it or wait for the next pixel folding phone, or maybe just go with a leading foldable like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Google Pixel Fold Features and Specifications

Google Pixel Fold Features and Specifications

Design:

Google Pixel Fold has revolutionized the foldable phone market with its 0.2 inches thick display. This feature makes it easier to operate apps and text on the front panel, making it a second display rather than a preview. The device weighs 0.625 lbs. Which is slightly heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It features a 7.6-inch display when opened.

The fluid-friction hinge on the Pixel Fold ensures smooth operation and durability, but the device does not unfold completely flat. While the Pixel Fold can withstand immersion in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes, it is not waterproof or dust-proof. The device is available in porcelain and obsidian colors, but its durability should be considered as it may be easy to damage the inside display.

Features  Specifications
Cover display  5.8 inches OLED (2092 x 1080)
Main display  7.6 inches OLED (2208 x 1840)
Refresh rate  Up to 120Hz for both
CPU  Tensor G2
RAM  12GB
Storage / Expandable?  256GB / 512GB
Rear cameras  48MP (f/1.7), 10.8MP ultrawide (f/2.2), 10.8MP telephoto (5x optical zoom)
Front Camera  9.5MP (f/2.2)
Inner camera  8MP (f/2.0)
Video  4K video up to 60 fps
Battery size  4,821 mAh
Wired charging speed  30W
Wireless charging?  Yes
Size open  6.2 x 5.5 x 0.2 inches
Size closed  5.5 x 3.1 x 0.5 inches
Weight  0.625 lbs
Colors  Obsidian, Porcelain

Display:

The Pixel Fold features dual OLED displays with a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, offering a wide viewing angle and consistent 120Hz refresh rates. The panel’s exterior display is brighter, with a maximum brightness of 1,172 nits, surpassing the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s 870 nits. The smaller external display is better for framing shots, while the interior display is adequate for viewing films and showcasing photos.

Software and Usage Modes:

The Pixel Fold offers a user-friendly multitasking experience with its intuitive design. It features a dock for quick access to apps, split screen mode, and easy switching between apps. Samsung keeps the dock visible, but the overall approach is clean and intuitive. The Pixel Fold offers various modes, such as TV mode for watching videos and tabletop mode for a more ergonomic experience.

Google has optimized its apps for the large screen, and third-party developers have also contributed to the device’s multitasking capabilities. Google’s Gmail, TikTok, Spotify, and Slack are some of the best-performing apps on the Pixel Fold.

When you have apps that don’t appear squashed, a split screen is excellent. To avoid switching between multiple apps, I used Chrome and Telegram to send my partner recommendations about where to get dinner. Having these capabilities just makes the simple things so much easier, even if none of this would have been hard with a typical phone.

Google Pixel

Camera

Google’s I/O 2023 showcased the Google Pixel Fold, featuring five cameras in the foldable phone category. The Pixel Fold offers a high-quality camera experience with Real Tone and Night Sight. It features a 48MP back camera, 10.8MP ultrawide camera, and 10.8MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom. The 9.5MP front camera and 8MP internal camera are also included. The 5x optical zoom lens provides excellent details and clarity, while the Google Photos app offers unique photo tools like Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur for sharpening pictures.

Battery

The Galaxy Z Fold 4’s 4,400 mAh battery is less than the 4,821 mAh battery in the Pixel Fold. Unsurprisingly, that change was sufficient to have the Pixel Fold outperform its major competitor in our test, lasting 10 hours and 21 minutes. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 ran the same test for 9 hours and 17 minutes.

Our testing in the real world revealed that its battery life was likewise good. With the Pixel Fold, a full battery will provide you with a minimum of 3 quarters of daily use. It means you have to charge it twice a day.

Performance

Overall, the performance of the Google Tensor G2 chip is great in the Pixel fold. It uses the same Google TensorG2 chip, which was used in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Google needs to fix the app opening structure because it is a bit of a headache when it comes to the overall experience.

Price

The base variant with 12GB, 256 GB RAM would cost you around $1,800. The top variant costs $1999. Since it’s Google’s first folding phone, it would have made more sense to keep the price lower. Nonetheless, the price is set and it’s up to you to see if you can afford it.

Verdict

Foldables of the first generation are hard. Unlike Motorola’s or Samsung’s initial foldable experiments, the Pixel Fold is far from a failure. But such businesses have worked out many of the issues now that they are several generations old. It’s a fun gadget, but it would probably work best for someone who doesn’t mind carrying around a lot of weight and frequently consumes entertainment on a big screen when traveling. You’re better off waiting to see what the next generation has to offer if, however, it sounds more like a nice-to-have than a need, as it did to me.

Introduction

The Google Pixelbook i7 (2017) is the flashiest Chromebook yet!

ChromeOS has always had a bad reputation for being a glorified browser. And over the years, Google has tried to convince the tech world otherwise.

Take the Chromebook pixel line as an example.

Google’s Chromebook Pixels (2013 and 2015) have had more powerful intel processors than their competitors. The 2015 version took that a step further with an i7 variant that outperformed the Celeron Chromebooks by other manufacturers.

The 2017 Google Pixelbook 12in is an upgrade to the 2015 Chromebook Pixel. But before we get to the spec sheet, here’s something about Chromebooks first.

What are Chromebooks and ChromeOS?

Chromebooks feature ChromeOS, a light-weight operating system made for web-based applications. These devices boot significantly faster and take less space, making them perfect for browsing and lenient tasks.

The original intent for ChromeOS and Chromebooks was to be the cheaper alternative to laptops. With devices like the Google Pixelbook 12in, this is changing rapidly.

These 2-in-1 devices are getting better hardware and increasingly smoother software, making them more expensive. This change ponders the question, why even use a Chromebook?

Benefits of Using a Chromebook

Chromebooks miss out on functionality benefits like gaming and multimedia editing. You’ll also miss some of the Windows apps and be on a constant search for alternatives.

Nonetheless, here are a few things that Chromebooks are good at:

  • Quick boots and in-general faster operations
  • Integration with Google Workspace
  • Cheaper and great for office use
  • Better collaboration and higher security than Windows because of cloud-based functioning
  • Good battery life

If you want a device that takes care of all things browsing there’s no need for you to spend more than a few hundred bucks.

A Chromebook also acts like your tablet whenever you need to watch Netflix or play some light games.

Being cheap also makes these devices great for educational use. Students can do pretty much all of their tasks, like writing notes and assignments, making presentations, and multimedia consumption.

So, does all of this apply to the Google Pixelbook i7? Let’s find out.

All About the Google Pixelbook i7 – Features, Specifications, & More

The Google Pixelbook i7 is somewhat of a different beast, which isn’t always a good thing. The cheapest option costs $999, and the highest variant for $1,500.

Now that’s one expensive Chromebook. As you’d expect, the Google Pixelbook 12in does everything a cheaper alternative would, but faster and better.

Being Google’s own child, the Pixelbook also gets more attention than other devices.

Chromebooks and ChromeOS

Google Pixelbook i7 – Features & All the Good Stuff

The Pixelbook has some smart features if it’s part of the ecosystem. Like unlocking the device with your phone’s fingerprint sensor, and automatic tethering from mobile data.

The Google Pixelbook 12in has great hardware too! The hinges are all solid and support 360° tilting. The keyboard is good enough for long typing hours, and the keyboard support’s smooth finish is wonderful.

The design is sleek and unique, just like the Pixel phones. The front side leaves a bit to be desired with unusually thicker bezels (even more than the Chromebook Pixel 2015)! Although, the beautiful display makes up for it.

The 7th gen kaby-lake processor makes the device one of the fastest Chromebooks ever. Along with that, an SSD makes everything just that much faster.

Google Pixelbook i7 – Specifications

The Google Pixelbook i7 (12in) has one of the best spec sheets in the Chromebook market.

Display ‎12.3 inches, 2400 x 1600 resolution, 235 ppi, 400 nits, Touchscreen
Processor Intel Core i7-7Y75
RAM 16GB
Storage 512GB SSD
Graphics Coprocessor Intel ‎HD615
Ports 2 USB Type-C, 1 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Google Pixelbook i7 – The Pros & Cons

For the most part, Google Pixelbook i7 is a great Chromebook. In fact, you can easily put it amongst the best.

However, the best Chromebook is still sometimes worse than a great tablet or a great laptop. So, most of the cons we’ll discuss are greatly influenced by the Pixelbook’s nature itself.

The Pros

  • The Pixelbook is sturdy and has decent build quality
  • Software stays up-to-date with frequent changes by Google to make it better
  • Google integrations make life easier and smarter with lots of cool features
  • Extremely fast and smooth for a Chromebook
  • Bult-in Google Assistant button for easier access and usage
  • Plenty of Android Apps

The Cons

  • No Microsoft Office or any Windows apps
  • ChromeOS has a moderately difficult learning curve coming from a Mac or Windows PC
  • While tilting 360°, holding the Pixelbook becomes awkward when you keep hitting the keyboard (inactive while tilted)
  • Compatibility issues with quite a few Android apps
  • Very less gaming capability

Comparing the Google Pixelbook i7 with Other Alternatives

When it comes to Chromebook alternatives, we’d suggest going for cheaper ones. After all, a Chromebook’s purpose is lightweight browser usage and office work.

However, the Pixelbook doesn’t just compete with other Chromebooks. You can get a Macbook Air, Microsoft Surface Laptop, or an iPad, all for around the same price.

As Marques from MKBHD put it in his video, “2-in-1s are usually worse at being a tablet than an actual tablet. And, they’re also worse at being a laptop than an actual laptop.” This also applies to the Google Pixelbook 12in.

But, if you’re only looking for one device that does both, there isn’t any better option than the Pixelbook.

Getting Past the ChromeOS on the Google Pixelbook i7

As I said earlier, a lot of things wrong with the Pixelbook are because of ChromeOS. But, there are ways to go around it.

You’ll be glad to hear that the Pixelbook has access to fully functional Debian Linux although its stability remains questionable.

If you’re willing to risk it, there is a way to install Ubuntu alongside ChromeOS. It won’t be as unstable as Linux, but there are some minor bugs you’ll have to deal with.

As it is, ChromeOS does fine for programming work. But, installing these OS could make it a better experience.

Our Final Word

To sum it up, the Google Pixelbook i7 is a top dog instead of a game-changer in the Chromebook Market!

For the price of one big grand, you need to think your needs through. Regardless, we can still see the Pixelbook get a fair share of its fans.

And, for a good reason!

The iPhone 14 range is almost here, given the launch is expected in September. However, we have a new rumor ahead of the iPhone 14 launch event—the colors of the forthcoming phones. Let us have a look at the rumored colors of the upcoming iPhone 14 range.

Although there is no certainty regarding the colors, we might just have an idea of the shades of the iPhone 14 range upcoming very soon. The following colors are likely to be dropped this year too!

Colors of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max Range

According to TechRadar, Apple is launching the following colors which will be available during the launch. Interestingly, in some cases, the iPhone 14 Max has not been mentioned. However, going by the past rumors, we can expect the model to come in similar shades as the standard iPhone 14 model. This will be much like the iPhone 13 mini that is currently available in the same colors as the iPhone 13.

Reportedly, the iPhone 14 (and the iPhone 14 Max) model will be available in the following colors:

Purple/lavender

Apple introduced the beautiful lavender iPhone 12 the following spring. Expectedly, lavender/purple could be a new shade for the iPhone 14 this year. The iPhone 13 is not available in a purple shade yet. Since it is a new shade and an attractive one, we can expect the iPhone 14 range to be available in this shade. This is also mainly because it has leaked at least twice.

Green/Alpine Green

Another popular shade to make rounds in the rumor is green. Although we are not certain about this one as of now (since the iPhone 13 model is available in green), we cannot make a definite prediction yet. Moreover, one source has mentioned the iPhone 14 range in this particular color.

Black

Black is one of the expected colors although the closest current iPhone 13 is dark blue or Midnight blue. Apple can probably offer the upcoming iPhone 14 range in this shade because it is one of the most popular smartphone colors.

At least two sources have suggested that a black shade is planned. Although it’s not a color we’re terribly thrilled by, it’s a safe, understated choice that looks smart and will appeal to many.

White

The closest neighbor of the black shade is the white one, or Starlight. It is a color that Apple is currently offering in its iPhone 13 lineup. Therefore, Apple might continue with this shade for its upcoming iPhone 14 range.

Blue

We can also expect a blue shade because it is another popular color out there. It is less likely than black or white because it is less of a standard shade. However, it is available on current iPhones and has been rumored by multiple sources.

Red

Red is Apple’s favorite color. So, a red iPhone 14 has always been likely, especially plausible here since two sources have already mentioned the same.  We can expect a bright red shade, officially called PRODUCT(RED). Moreover, sales in this color contribute to the fight against global health emergencies.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max Colors

Below are the colors we can expect for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max:

  • Gold or Rose Gold
  • Purple
  • Green
  • Graphite
  • Silver
  • iPhone 14 Range: The Missing Shades

Although we cannot entirely guarantee the above colors, we can still Apple to launch them. Rumors around Apple and its products, especially the iPhone 14 range, have been around for a long time. If these rumors are true, we will probably not see the iPhone 14 range in pink.

In a piece of latest news, Qualcomm has accidentally announced revealed the date for its upcoming Snapdragon Summit event. According to the now-removed date revelation, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset’s debut might be expected shortly.

Qualcomm’s Upcoming Snapdragon Summit

Qualcomm launches its new Snapdragon 8-series flagship chip, among other chipsets every year at its annual Snapdragon Tech Summit event. Although details of the event are typically made public close to the event dates, a new leak suggests that the company may host 2022’s Snapdragon Summit in November. According to a report by GSMarena, Qualcomm accidentally disclosed the date for its next Snapdragon Summit event. The now-deleted page on the company’s website reportedly displayed the dates of the next Snapdragon Summit to be held between November 14 and November 17, later in 2022.

While the page has now been taken down, a screenshot by the publication does mention Qualcomm saying, “The fifth annual Snapdragon Tech Summit is coming soon, stay tuned for more information.”

One of the most likely developments to be made official at this event will be Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. With phones running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 not yet launched, it may seem like the next-gen flagship chip is being released too quickly. But Qualcomm has been releasing chip successors every 6 months for a while now since the US-based company adopted a biannual hardware refresh strategy.

Rumoured Specifications of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset

The Snapdragon tech summit is typically a three-day event where Qualcomm debuts its flagship mobile chipsets. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, however, was no exception, since it was unveiled at the previous year’s event on November 30. A few weeks after its official unveiling, Qualcomm’s President and CEO Christiano Amon confirmed that the company’s next flagship mobile processor would be named the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Leaks and rumours since then have revealed that the chip will use a 1+2+2+3 quad-cluster architecture compared to the 1+3+4 tri-cluster architecture of its predecessor.

Following MediaTek, Qualcomm is one of the largest suppliers of processors and modems for Android smartphones. Currently, the company is yet to make a serious entry into the PC processor market that is continuously dominated by Intel and AMD. Qualcomm is trying to change the aspects. The confirmation comes from the company’s plans, as a part of which, in 2021, it acquired a CPU design company called NUVIA for a staggering amount of $1.4 Billion. Qualcomm’s current flagship laptop processor is the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, launched at 2021’s Qualcomm Tech Summit in Hawaii, alongside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is a 5nm SoC that features a 4+4 CPU architecture with Cortex-X1 and Cortex-A78 cores.

Another recent leak suggested that Xiaomi 13 will also launch later in 2022, making the November debut of Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 ideal for Xiaomi as well as Motorola. This is because the smartphone companies are racing to launch the first phone with the latest flagship processor. However, Qualcomm strictly follows the ritual of not revealing the Hawaii summit date for five months prior to the event, and this early revelation could be a slip-up by the company.

Introduction

Motorola Edge 30 is Motorola’s latest offering in the upper mid-range smartphone market. With the Edge 30, Motorola has launched the world’s slimmest phone in the smartphone market. In terms of design, the Motorola Edge 30 looks better than its premium sibling Motorola Edge 30 Pro. Reportedly, Motorola offers several features in its latest offerings. Let us see whether the world’s slimmest phone performs the way it has been claimed to.

An Overview of The Motorola Edge 30

As the world’s slimmest phone, the Motorola Edge 30 is also the first smartphone to house 778G+ (the fastest offering of 700 series chips). Packed with powerful performance, the Edge 30 comes with an insanely fast 144Hz refresh rate.

Motorola Edge 30 comes in two variants (6GB+128GB, and 8GB+128GB) as well as two different colors (Arora Blue and Meteor Grey). Along with its bright pOLED display, the phone is powered by Android 12. The spec sheet of Motorola Edge 30 is fully decked out. Let’s see whether the phone performs as the spec sheet claims to.

An Overview of The Motorola Edge 30

1. Specifications of Motorola Edge 3

Motorola Edge 30 Specification

Storage   128GB
Main Camera Setup   50MP+50MP+2MP
Selfie Camera   32MP
Battery   4020mAh

2. Price Range of The Motorola Edge 30

Being a mid-range smartphone, the Motorola Edge 30 will not make holes in your pocket. The pricing varies as per the storage options. You can avail the smartphone in the following two price ranges:

6GB RAM + 128 GB ROM is priced at 27,999/-
8GB RAM + 128GB ROM is priced at 29,999/-

Motorola Edge 30 Software

Motorola is known for its near-stock Android feel and its Edge 30 is no exception. The Edge 30 is clean bloatware free with a near-stock android feel and the phone comes with Android 12 out of the box.

Being near-stock android with minimum bloat puts a lot less stress on RAM and on the processor which eventually increases the snappiness of the phone. Moto apps that are built-in provide access to themes, gestures, and visual adjustment, and also guide on how to use various features.

Design and Display of Motorola Edge 30

Motorola Edge 30 has a simple and minimalist design. Being the slimmest and lightest phone in the world, it has a thickness of 6.79 mm and weighs only 155g, and is available in two colors. Its streamlined design makes it comfortable for you to hold the phone in hand.

Speaking of its display, it is packed with a 2400X1080p 6.5-inch F-HD+ display that supports HDR10+ and has a 144Hz refresh rate, with an aspect ratio of 20:9.  With a 10bit pOLED display, it can showcase up to 1 billion colors that makes it vibrant and colorful with a peak brightness of 500nits.

The display does not lag due to a higher refresh rate and works perfectly without lagging. However, it increases the battery drainage. For better battery life you can use the auto refresh rate, and for the fixed refresh rate, you have two options that are 60Hz and 144Hz.  The 10-bit display offers a great experience of watching media content. Additionally, Edge 30’s Widevine L1 enables you to watch FHD+ content from all OTT platforms.

The front display is protected by corning gorilla glass 3, while the body and back are PMMA or Polymethyl Methacrylate (a plastic substitute for glass). With a triple camera setup and a glossy hosing, you can find Moto’s branding at the bottom with the symbol in the middle. The entire back of the phone is frosted. However, the camera housing pultrudes a little which makes it wobble on a flat surface.

On the front, you will also find a hole-punch on the top along with the selfie camera, and at the bottom, you can find the in-display fingerprint scanner. Interestingly, the Edge 30 is the first mid-range phone by Motorola to have an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Battery Life of Motorola Edge 30

Motorola Edge 30 comes with a 4020 mAh battery. With a charging speed of 33W that is included with the box, you can charge your smartphone super-fast with the Motorola turbo charger. That means your phone can go from having 0% to 50% in just 25 minutes! The battery percentage takes a little more than 60 minutes to become 100%.

However, being the slimmest smartphone in the world takes a blow on the battery life of the Edge 30. This is because 4020 mAh battery is not enough for today’s standard. Nevertheless, the Snapdragon 778+ comes to the rescue here by optimizing the battery consumption and thus, making the smartphone last a full day on light usage. In case of heavy usage, you might have to charge the phone twice a day. Although Motorola could have packed a bigger battery, the 6.8mm thickness, however, cannot house a bigger battery.

mobile device

Camera of The Motorola Edge 30

Motorola Edge 30 houses a triple-camera setup with

  • 50Mp main camera,
  • 50Mp Ultra-wide camera, and
  • 2Mp depth sensor.

The main camera also has optical image stabilization and can help you take some really good shots with natural color tones. The ultra-wide sensor captures decent images but where it shines is microphotography. And yes, the ultra-wide camera on Motorola Edge 30 doubles as a micro-lens as well. After a long time, Motorola has changed the camera app UI. As always, Moto’s camera app UI is simple and loaded with features to help you to capture awesome photos.

Speaking of the front camera, this phone has a 32Mp selfie camera. Thus, you can click great pictures with good contrasts under good lighting conditions. However, Edge 30’s selfie camera is sensitive to motion blur. Thus, in low lighting conditions, you will need a steady hand. Although the portrait mode is okay and captures good pictures, it struggles to distinguish between object and background.Speaking of Motorola Edge 30’s video capturing qualities, you can shoot 4k videos at 30 fps, 1080p videos at 30/60/120 fps, and 720p videos at 960fps. Edge 30 also supports HDR10 with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).

Introduction

Apple cracked into the Fortune 500 in 1983, a spot it has held onto ever since. And, we all know the reason why?

Apple always served their customers only the best and never disappoint with its smartphone in terms of speed and usability. The company has always managed to offer the fastest processors in the whole industry.

For instance, Apple’s A13 chip, offered in Apple iPhone 11, alone is faster than the smartphones launched that year. Soon after, iPhone 12 came with an A14 bionic chip which took the title of the fastest chip and holding it still.

However, now with the launch of Apple 13 things are going to change. iPhone 13 series comes with the A15 Bionic chip, passing all tests and proving itself to be much faster than the previous A-series Bionic chip.

Apple has taken lead over its competition with this new processor which will supposedly become the fastest chip in a smartphone.

Here’s what Apple says about the A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone 13 Pro:

With 5-nanometer technology, A15 Bionic — the fastest chip in a smartphone — features a new 5-core GPU in the Pro lineup that brings the fastest graphics performance in any smartphone, up to 50 percent faster than the leading competition, ideal for video apps, high-performance gaming, and the slate of new camera features.

Let’s understand more about this chip, for instance, its performance advantage and are the changes over the previous A14 Bionic.

When will it be released?

Apple has confirmed the release of A15 Bionic inside the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro.

Bionic chip in the iPhone 13 Pro

What are the Features of the A15 Bionic chip?

The Apple A15 Bionic is a System on a Chip (SoC) from Apple. The chip offers 6 cores which are divided into two performance and four power-efficiency cores. It is manufactured at 5nm. The CPU performance increases only slightly compared to the A14, but GPU offers higher gains.

Series  Apple Apple A-Series
Series: Apple A-Series
» Apple A15 Bionic  0 – 3.23 GHz  6 / 6
Apple A12 Bionic  0 – 2.49 GHz  6 / 6

Clock Rate  <=3230 MHz
Number of Cores / Threads  6 / 6
Transistor Count  15800 Million
Manufacturing Technology  5 nm
Features  ARMv8 Instruction Set, Machine Learning Controller, 16-Core Neural Engine, Secure Enclave, Advanced Image Signal Processor
GPU  Apple A15 GPU 5-Core
64 Bit  64 Bit support
Architecture  ARM
Announcement Date  09/14/2021 = 15 days old

What is different in A15 Bionic?

Usually, the new processor gen comes with smaller process nodes to allow for faster performance due to more transistors. However, the A15 has the same size 5nm manufacturing process. This is an indication that the chip might not be a greater changer than previous processors as we hoped.

Notably, the company has already confirmed 15 billion transistors in the A15 Bionic. This is a drastic increase from the 11.8 billion transistors found on the A14 Bionic meaning a performance jump compared to the iPhone 12.

A15 Bionic chips will also use the same number of CPU cores as the A14 which is 6 cores: four energy-efficient and two high-performance cores. The improvements in the architecture will ensure that the all-new iPhone 13 is more powerful than the previous.

Interestingly, the company is offering two different A15 Bionic configurations in graphics. So, the iPhone 13 Pro will have 5 GPU cores while the iPhone 13 will have 4. This will mean that 13 Pro will be faster when it comes to editing videos and running games. This is the most powerful graphics performance in a smartphone, according to Apple.

Lastly, Apple A15 Bionic features a 16-core Neural Engine capable of 15.8 trillion operations per second. This allows for improved machine learning, which boosts the likes of Siri and Live Text in Camera.

The A15 Bionic chip has overwhelmed its competitors with its achievement. In the first round, the chip has also achieved an average frame rate of 198 frames per second. In the second round, whereas, it dipped to 140-150 frames per second. These results are expected as the manufacturers limit the parts to reach their full potential. This is done to ensure temperature control.

A15 Bionic was ahead in tests from the A14 Bionic and is likely to be 14% – 15% bigger in size. This will now be the fastest and biggest processor the company has ever produced.

We can expect Apple to leverage the advanced N5P architecture of TSMC for less battery consumption.

Conclusion:

Apple recently introduced the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, this time they have slight differences in terms of performance. However, the GPU in the A15 chip found in the iPhone 13 Pro is more powerful than in the iPhone 13.

The A15 Bionic chip’s GPU in the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 features four cores. The company says the A15 delivers 30% better graphics performance compared to its competitors. The A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, the GPU has an extra core for a total of five cores to deliver up to 50% better performance.

Introduction

You have a date and you are already 10 minutes late. You grab your jacket, keys, and wallet and rush out.

Lucky for you, you reach the park just before your date decides to leave.

The date goes well and after spending most of the afternoon, you happily drive back home.

You drop your keys in the key bowl and start taking off your jacket, but then you realize something is missing. You check all your pockets and…

Oh crap! You justify your wallet in the park!

You suddenly start recalling all the places you’ve been to the park bench, the fountain, that ice-cream stall……

Now, you have only two options: search the whole place or wait for someone to find it and call you.

Sounds familiar?

Losing thing is a concept we are all familiar with and we can proudly say “been there, done that.”

But the noteworthy thing is that: you and I are not the only people losing stuff around here, everyone is!

Let me show you the gravity of this situation with a few stats:

  • An average American spends 2.5 days each year looking for lost items collectively costing U.S. households $2.7 billion annually in replacement costs.
  • On average you spend 10 minutes a day looking for your phone, keys, or other misplaced items which are 2.5 days per year.
  • People spent 4.5 hours searching for the TV controller every week!

To solve this major crisis, in April 2021, Apple introduced Airtags at an event.

Video Player

The small, circular discs hold ultra-wideband tech as Apple’s iPhone 12.

Wait! Wait! Wait!

Let’s take a pause and start from the beginning:

What Is Apple AirTag?

Apple’s Airtag is a simple way to stay connected with your things in this digitally connected world. An iPhone accessory provides a private and secure way to locate items that matter to you.

But we should not forget that Apple is not the pioneer of trackers. It’s just trying to expand its Find My ecosystem with AirTag.

Apple’s AirTag is a product to rival Tile and other companies including Locca, Hum, Whistle, TrackR, and Pebblebee Finder who are already in the game.

How Does the AirTag Work?

Apple says Airtags works the same as pairing AirPods. You can see it in the new items tab of the Find My app and name the items it is connected with.

How Does the AirTag Work

Assume that you are at your home and you’ve lost your keys. Then you’ll probably still be within the Bluetooth range of your AirTag.

In this case, you can go to Find my and it will detect Bluetooth signals from your Airtags. After that, you’ll be able to use the built-in speaker that will guide you to their location.

To add the cherry on top, AirTags have Siri-support, so you can command your iOS assistant to help you locate the lost item.

This part of the equation is simple. But, once we step outside the house, then things get a lot more interesting.

So, What Happens if You Are Out of Bluetooth Range?

Now, if you’ve justified something far behind with Airtag attached to it, for instance on a park bench, you can open Find My network and see its last known location.

Your devices will send the location of your AirTag to iCloud and then you can see it on a map.

If you leave something behind then you can at least return to the same spot and collect it.

What Happens if Something Is Really Lost?

In that case, you can put your AirTag into Lost mode.

In lost mode, your phones will notify you when your tag is within the range of the Find My network.

Or, if someone else happens to stumble on your AirTag, she or he can simply use an iPhone or any NFC-capable device to view your contact number (if it’s listed).

If you are still wondering!

Tags and the Find My app leverage Apple’s U1 chip with Ultra-Wideband technology to use Precision Finding.

This feature relies on camera input, ARKit, accelerometer, and gyroscope to guide you to your AirTag. It also uses sound, haptic, and visual feedback to help you find your item.

On top of the U1 chip, AirTag uses Bluetooth, so that anyone with an iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 device will be able to use them.

To help you easily navigate, the Find My app will give you helpful notes, for instance, how many feet away your AirTag is and in which direction.

Apple’s Airtags are for everyone, hence their Precision Finding also has a voice-over option to help low-vision or blind users.

All that sounds great!

But, if you are a skeptical person like me, then you must have some security and privacy concerns.

Am I right or am I right?

Indeed, Apple’s Airtag leverages the Find My network. To ensures that you can locate AirTags in most situations, nearly a billion iOS devices around the world participate in it.

But this also means they can be tracked very closely, which opens the possibility of them being abused.

Is Apple Airtag Secure?

Apple’s name has been synonymous with ‘Privacy and Security for many. And, even with their new product, they have eliminated the problem of security as much as possible.

AirTag Bluetooth connectivity

AirTag is designed to track items, not people,” Wolfman-Estrada said during the Apple spring event.

airbags are tiny, lightweight discs so they won’t weigh down keyrings or backpacks. This makes them easy to slip into someone’s bag.

So, what happens if someone tries to use Airtag to stalk you from their own Apple device.

To address this, if the Find My app in your phone detects an AirTag not attached to your Apple ID it will immediately alert you.

But What Happens When You Don’t Own an iPhone?

In that case, the Airtag itself will raise an audible alert to let you know it’s there.

Apple says “Bluetooth signal identifiers transmitted by AirTag rotate frequently to prevent unwanted location tracking. iOS devices can also detect an AirTag that isn’t with its owner, and notify the user if an unknown AirTag is seen to be traveling with them from place to place over time.”

Besides, to stop someone slipping an AirTag into your pocket, you will be able to detect if an unknown AirTag appears to be moving with you.

Will You Be Able to See Devices Near Your Airtag?

AirTags use Apple’s network to locate missing devices, but Apple says, “no location data or location history is physically stored inside AirTag.”

Despite, Apple’s several claims Forbes shared the risk Airtag users will still face.

Now, let’s get real.

How Much Does an Airtag Cost?

In the US, Apple AirTag is prices at $29 for on or $99 for a pack of four.

You can carry your Airtags with style with a range of extra accessories available to buy separately, including Parisian fashion brand Hermes accessories.

And, to add the final Apple touch, you will be able to customize it with your initials or a sweet emoji. That is for free.

You can always find rival alternatives to Apple products, in this case, its Tile. While Airtags are relatively new, Tile has been around for quite some time.

This raises an obvious question:

Which Is Better Airtag or Tile?

While we can tell you which one’s better, but we can share their similarities and difference. This will help you judge them on your own.

AirTag and Tile’s trackers share many important features, such as:

  • Close-range Bluetooth tracking
  • Location tracking
  • Built-in speaker for audio alerts
  • Replaceable batteries
  • Water-resistance

But the differences are more pronounced when it comes to other features.

AirTag  Tile
  • Ultra-Wideband and Bluetooth tracking
  • Bluetooth tracking (150ft to 400ft range)
  • Precision Finding and ‌Find My‌ network integration for tracking from any in-range
  • “Community Find” for tracking from any in-range with the Tile app
  • Lost Mode notification when found by a nearby Apple device.
  • Lost Mode notification when found by a nearby device with the Tile app
  • Unwanted tracking alerts
  • Phone tracking
  • One-tap setup process
  • Tile app
  • Find My‌ app and Siri integration
  • Range of designs and do not require accessories
  • One design and accessories are required
  • Color options for Tile Pro and Tile Slim
  • Compatible with the only iOS
  • Compatible with iOS and Android.
  • Replaceable CR2032 battery
  • Replaceable CR2032 battery in the Tile Mate or Pro.
  • One-year battery life
  • Non-replaceable or rechargeable battery in Tile Slim and Sticker
  • IP67 water-resistance
  • Tile Mate and Tile Pro: “water-resistant,” Tile Slim and Tile Sticker: “waterproof.”
  • $29 for one, $99 for four
  • Costs $24.99 for one, $61.75 for four
  • NFC in Lost Mode for information about the AirTag’s owner on iOS and Android devices.
  • Requires Premium subscription for $2.99 per month for Smart Alerts, Unlimited Sharing, and Location History.

Now, let me tell you a secret!

While it’s a no-brainer that both the tracker are great, AirTags tends to be more accurate than a Tile tracker with standard tracking on a map.

Also, as we know Apple’s Find my network is made up of all the iPhones, iPads, Macs, and iPad the total number is approaching a billion. Its network is a more extensive network over Tile’s, which accounts for millions.

Before, we wrap us, here are few things you should know about Airtags usage.

Which Iphones Work Best With Airtags?

Precision Finding is compatible with iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Iphones Work With Airtags

Do I Need to Charge My AirTag?

No. AirTag’s battery lasts for about one year before it needs to be replaced.

Can you share your AirTags?

Absolutely, yes!

To share your AirTag with a person in your Family Sharing group, simply disable safety alerts.

And, if they’re not a part of your family, then the person can temporarily disable alerts.

In case that person losses something attached to your Airtag then only you can track an AirTag linked to your ‌Apple ID‌ with the Find My‌ app.

No, you cannot provide tracking access to other people.

Can I Travel Anywhere With AirTags?

If you want to travel with Airtag, there are certain limitations that you should be aware of.

For instance, Precision Finding will not work in certain countries such as Russia, Indonesia, and Argentina.

Can I Track My Pets and Children?

AirTags are designed to track items and not people.

Apple does not recommend tracking you to track pets or children.

Instead, the company recommends an Apple Watch that uses Family Setup to keeping tabs on children.

Can I Connect Unlimited Airtags to My Apple ID?

Unfortunately, no!

Apple ID will only allow you to associate up to 16 AirTags at one time.
